When Category 5 Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica in October 2025, it caused an estimated US$8.5 billlion in damage. The Whitehouse Resort is one of the properties that suffered from winds of over 185 mph. The steep slope roofing project now underway utilized SharkSkin Ultra, which covered 2,500 squares of emergency dry-in.
The full re-roofing project is currently being undertaken by a US roofing contractor, Thermoset Roofing International from Pompano Beach, Florida, working alongside multiple local crews of approximately 100 men and women. Ultimately, the roof will be finished with an Elevate metal roof system.
