Welcome to the 2026 Metal Roofing Idea Book. Every year, this special edition offers a snapshot of what’s happening in the metal roofing market, and this year one thing became impossible to ignore as projects continued arriving in my inbox: residential roofing is leading the way.

Once again, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers submitted an impressive range of projects showcasing the beauty, durability, and versatility of metal roofing. More than ever before, in fact. But this year, a remarkable number of those submissions centered on homes. From modern standing seam designs to projects featuring metal shingles, stone-coated profiles, and bold architectural accents, residential work clearly makes a strong showing throughout this edition.

Naturally, it raises some questions. Are more homeowners recognizing the long-term value of metal roofing? Are rising concerns about durability, energy efficiency, and severe weather driving increased interest in residential metal? Or perhaps contractors are simply seeing more opportunities to introduce homeowners to the growing range of styles and product options now available.

Whatever the reason, the projects featured in this year’s Idea Book suggest residential metal roofing continues gaining momentum. Homeowners today are looking for roofing systems that not only protect their homes, but also complement architectural style and provide lasting performance. Metal roofing checks those boxes in ways that continue to resonate across the market.

At the same time, the quality of craftsmanship represented in these pages deserves recognition. The projects submitted this year demonstrate careful planning, technical skill, and attention to detail from professionals across the industry. The creativity involved in adapting metal roofing to such a wide variety of residential applications is especially noteworthy.

As always, we appreciate everyone who contributed projects, photos, and information for this special edition. And if you complete a project this year that deserves to be showcased, remember that submissions for the 2027 Idea Book are accepted year-round.

Until next time — be well.
