As I write this, advertising director Missy Beyer and I have just returned to the office after attending the International Roofing Expo in Dallas. It was an excellent trip. Events that allow you to meet and learn directly from roofing industry manufacturers, suppliers, and so many others are few and far between.
IRE is enormous. With over 400 booths and displays at the 2023 event, we were only able to meet with a tiny fraction of the exhibitors. We did, however, make it a priority to meet with and deliver the remaining Metal of Honor plaques.
It was our honor to hand-deliver the award plaques to those winning companies that were exhibiting at IRE. (Some of the awards were delivered last month during Frame Building Expo in Louisville.) We took the opportunity to take photos of the winners with their awards; you will see them in an upcoming edition of Metal Roofing Magazine. (You’ll also see and learn more about the show in the next edition.)
The Metal of Honor is a big deal. It’s an Industry’s Choice award. All the winners were selected by you and your fellow roofing industry professionals.
If your favorite suppliers didn’t show up on the winner’s list, be sure to vote for them in December when the next voting cycle begins. If they are not on the ballot, you are free to nominate them by writing in their company name.
The next edition is the annual IDEA Book. Once again it will be filled with outstanding metal roofing projects. If ever you’re thinking to yourself: “I can do better than that!” as you peruse the metal roofing Project of the Month or the IDEA Book projects, this is a standing invitation for you to send in a project.
