More than 10 separate ridges, numerous valleys, covered porches, several overhangs, a coordinating cupola, and 12—that’s right, 12—skylights add up for one massive roofing job. The team at Burkholder’s Custom Construction mastered the project, located between Columbus and Cleveland in central Ohio. The installers used 1″ x 3″ furring strips, spaced 18″ on-center over the existing asphalt shingle roof. The unassuming natural browns of the standing seam metal roof blend effortlessly into the semi-wooded environment of the home, while the roofing material will protect it for years to come.
